The DFW Grotto is the oldest grotto in The Metroplex. Chartered as
NSS I/O #76 the DFW Grotto will soon be celebrating it's 50th Anniversary as
an NSS Grotto. Members of The DFW Grotto live in Dallas County and
surrounding areas. The DFW Grotto is a non-profit organization.
The DFW Grotto meets the fourth Wednesday of every month except December when a Christmas Party with cavers from all The Metroplex
Cavers Grottos attending is substituted.
DFW Grotto meetings are currently held at:
Recreational
Equipment Inc. (REI)
4515 LBJ Freeway
Farmers Branch, TX 75244.
The meeting is usually held in the Clinic Room on the second floor of REI Inc.
(However, they sometimes meet on the first floor on the North wall. Go to the left side of the climbing wall all the way to the far wall.) Look for the room location notice at the bottom of the stairway near the climbing wall.
The meeting is scheduled to start at 6:45 p.m. and ends slightly before 9:00 p.m. when the
meeting adjourns and members migrate to Taco Cabana, a local eating establishment for after meeting
dining and socialization. The Taco Cabana is located at 11824 Webb Chapel Rd,
Farmers Branch, TX 75234, (972) 620-0139.
The DFW Grotto publishes a newsletter, The Oztotl Caver
which is available to members and subscribers.
